PAC in a nutshell

Everything you wanted to know about the performing arts but didn't know where to ask!

The Performing Arts Collection of South Australia is living history and it is yours. A breathtaking, exciting collection of artefacts representing the rich heritage of the performing arts in this state is available to the public for research and as a resource.

The glorious history of South Australian drama, opera, dance, music, music theatre, circus, vaudeville is yours to behold, to use and to enjoy.

The Collection holds over 79,000 acquisitions including programs, posters, photographs, props, costumes, stage models, costume designs, oral histories, masks, puppets and much, much more.

Donations
This wonderful collection would not exist without the generous support and the donations of memorabilia from artists, theatre companies, individuals and the public.  The Collection is dependent on donations so that we can showcase our rich and exciting performing arts history.

What We Collect
Our focus is South Australian performing arts - that is South Australian artists, theatre companies, venues.We are interested in theatre costumes, costume and set designs, puppets,scrap books, programs, photographs, masks, properties and posters.

If you would like to donate material, or know of someone who has memorabilia please discuss this with the curator by phoning (08) 8216 8769, or (08) 8216 8767.

The Collection has an extensive database.If you are connected with a theatre company, amateur or professional, please ensure that you notify us of forthcoming productions, and deposit a copy of your theatre program, poster and other information with the collection.
